Kevin Maher is the Chief Film Critic of The Times. Born, raised and educated in Ireland, where he received a Masters in Film Studies from University College Dublin, he moved to London in 1994, and began writing film criticism for The Guardian, The Independent and Time Out. On television he worked for Channel 4’s Film Night series, as well as co-presenting Screentime on ITV.
He joined The Times in 2002, as a critic, columnist and feature writer. He is also the author of two novels, The Fields and Last Night on Earth. He lives in Hertfordshire with his family, and his dog.
